Counselling in Leytonstone and Online
When you email me, we’ll arrange to have a short (free) phone call and then agree on an initial consultation. This consultation session is the first step in working together. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about what’s brought you to counselling, and see if I’m the right fit for you. It’s a relaxed, no-obligation session that lasts 50 minutes (60 minutes for couples). We’ll explore your goals and discuss how I can help. By the end, you’ll have a clearer idea of what to expect and how we can move forward together.
I use an integrative approach to counselling, which means I draw on different therapeutic methods to suit your unique needs. At the heart of my work is a highly relational way of connecting with clients, which ensures that our sessions are built on trust, mutual understanding, and collaboration. This approach allows us to explore the challenges you’re facing, in a way that feels both safe and productive.
I incorporate psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on uncovering deeper patterns, past experiences, and unconscious influences that may be affecting your current thoughts and behaviours. This helps to bring clarity and insight into the root causes of your struggles.
For clients who prefer a more practical, solution-focused approach, I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques. These are particularly effective for managing anxiety, challenging negative thought patterns, and breaking cycles of unhelpful behaviour.
By tailoring my approach to your individual needs, I provide a flexible and dynamic way of working that encourages meaningful change. You’ll find our sessions are both supportive and challenging, giving you the tools to move forward with confidence.
I work with a wide range of issues, but my specialities include anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, psychosexual issues, and trauma. Whether you’re struggling with persistent intrusive thoughts, dealing with low self-esteem, or facing a difficult life transition, I can help. My experience also includes working with diagnosed and undiagnosed ADHD in adults, addictions, health anxiety, career issues and workplace stress. I often help clients navigate family issues and life choices, to achieve the life they want. I haven't listed all the issues in which I am experienced, so if something else is troubling you, please do get in touch to see how I can help you.
Counselling is a deeply personal process, and every client’s journey is different. Whatever you’re facing, I’m here to support you in finding the clarity, tools, and confidence to move forward.
Anxiety Counselling
Anxiety can feel all-consuming, leaving you stuck in a cycle of worry, overthinking, fear, or panic. I understand how overwhelming and limiting it can be, but I also know that it doesn’t have to control your life. In our sessions, we’ll work on managing your anxiety in the short term, giving you practical strategies to reduce the intensity of your symptoms.
At the same time, we’ll explore the deeper issues that may be driving your anxiety, helping you gain insight and build resilience for the long term. Whether your anxiety is linked to specific triggers, a generalised feeling of unease, or past traumas, I’ll work with you to break the cycle and regain a sense of calm and control, helping you to identify and achieve your goals.
Couples Counselling
Relationships can be one of the most fulfilling parts of life, but they’re rarely straightforward. Whether you’re facing ongoing communication issues, struggling to recover from infidelity, or feeling disconnected from your partner, couples counselling offers a way forward.
Our sessions create a neutral space where both of you can feel heard and understood. I’ll help you identify the underlying causes of your challenges, whether it’s miscommunication, unmet needs, or unresolved conflict. From there, we’ll work together to rebuild trust, improve communication, and strengthen your connection.
Couples counselling isn’t just about resolving issues; it’s also about learning how to navigate future challenges more effectively. I’ll support you in understanding each other’s perspectives, rebuilding intimacy, and developing tools to manage conflict and differences, in a healthier, more constructive way. For many couples, the process not only resolves current struggles but also deepens their relationship, creating a stronger foundation for the future.
If you’re feeling unhappy, stuck or disconnected, couples counselling can help you move from frustration and confusion to clarity and closeness. No matter how difficult things may feel right now, there’s always potential for change.
